Bailey update, not for the faint of heart

Bailey is doing surprisingly well. Surprisingly, because he has a hole in his chest the size of almost a golf ball.

Really.

I tried to describe how gnarly this hole is to Whitey, who didn’t really understand until we went over to MIL’s house this morning. He was going to help put some ointment into the holes now that the tubes are out. His first reaction was to look away quickly, stare into my eyes, and say “Oh my God”.

You can see muscle, or some sort of innards that you shouldn’t ever have to see unless you’re a vet. Like a bad CSI episode, where Horatio would slowly put on his sunglasses and say, “It’s a dog-eat-dog world”.
