My place or yours?!??

Everyone keeps saying it will be worth it….

We now deliver.

We decided a few months ago that we needed to start delivering; one in every five phone calls asked if we delivered, and whenever we said “no” and hung up, it was a wake-up call that we needed to fill.

The underwriter for our business insurance said “ABSOLUTELY NOT!”, and so for 2 months we took that as law.

Yet, whenever a pizza franchise delivery car drove by our place (and one of the drivers has the audacity to point and wave when he sees us outside) we took it as a challenge. Finally, Progressive Insurance agreed to insure us for delivery….

if we bought our own company vehicle, and pre-authorized all of the drivers.

Hence, the hunk of mini-van you see above. We bought it a couple of days ago, and had a local sign company do decals (overnight, too!) on the windows.

Our insurance payments are absurd, even after dropping an 18-year-old from the policy and demoting him to straight “dishwasher”. We would have had to pay an additional $640 a year to keep him as a part-time driver. Ridiculous.

We’re hoping that we’ll recoup the cost of insurance with more sales via doing delivery.

I’d hate to be making a living off of delivery tips, though. After doing all of our deliveries for the past two days, I have already been stiffed twice (both with “sorry I can’t pay more” excuses), given a 55-cent tip on a 5-mile drive, and was once greeted at the front door by a lady in her pajamas… at 4 o’clock in the afternoon! She asked if I wanted to see her goldfish.

Um.

No.

Anyway… back to the subject at hand.

We deliver.

If you’re hungry, call us.

I’ll take a large Thai Shrimp, a small pepperoni, small pepperoni and Italian sausage, two salads, and a canadian bacon. blue cheese & onion stromboli. What is the charge on that?

When you get the jet for deliveries to Bend, let me know. I’ll even meet you at the airport.

I might stiff you on the tip though… 😉
