We thought that the restaurant would be slow for Halloween, especially since there was no high school in session and that we’re outside of downtown where all of the festivities are.
We were wrong.
Lunch was ridiculously busy. We ended up having to chop lettuce to order for salads, and barely had time to prep for dinner.
Dinner was just as slammed. It was unbelievable. It all went smoothly, though. I only know of one complaint, from a lady at lunch who said that her soup wasn’t hot, it was warm. She only complained about it after finishing her entire meal, which is frustrating.
Our ovens guy showed up to work dressed as Whitey, which was pretty funny. St.Louis ball cap, white apron, bar towel hanging from his back pocket, Crocs, golf shorts, and a pillow duct-taped to his belly. And just in case you couldn’t figure it out, a name tag.
Pretty funny stuff.
Our front gal was a pirate, and the other kitchen guy showed up as a Rocker Dude in pants so tight I was surprised that he was still able to breathe. Size 3 women’s jeans. Yeah. Tight.
It was a long, long day.
Whitey was exhausted, so I sent him home at about nine o’clock. We finished up around 10:30 or so, and a few of us went to a local bar to sing karaoke and watch the local idiots. 🙂 We had a pretty good time.
Tonight we’re catering a sweet 16 birthday party for 150 guests. We’ll be busy.
