Manic Monday

What a crazy Monday. We had a really, really busy lunch.

Today was the first day that we began a new schedule, starting two people out front instead of just one with me backing them up. Whitey was totally against it, until during the middle of lunch today he acknowledged that we’d be in the woods if we were one person short.

I snuck out for almost two-hours later in the afternoon to finish our Christmas shopping. I was able to hit up Bi-Mart, Rite-Aid, Safeway and even the Sycamore Tree and BELLA. Usually I have problems finding parking downtown, and was stoked to find (almost) front-row parking at the Sycamore Tree and BELLA.

When I got back to work, I let Whitey take off so that he could go home and pick up the dogs to take them for some quality Frisbee Time.

They’ve been neglected a bit these past few weeks, so it was good that they got some strenuous exercise.

Tonight, we catered to a Monday Night Football crowd and an unexpected dinner rush. At the end of the night, we handed out Christmas bonuses and received a hug in return. It may not seem like much, but we decided to give bonuses based upon longevity, and everyone received $10 per month that they’ve been employed. We’ve been open for 13 months, so a couple of people received $130. Not too shabby in my opinion, but of course I’m the one signing the checks so even twenty-bucks means something.

Two days until our day off. Christmas Day. Sleeping in until 8 or 9 a.m. is going to be the best gift of all.
