February of 2008 was the slowest month our restaurant has ever had. Our sales were half of the months prior, and the rest of the year proved to be twice (or more) as busy.
We expected this year to be no different, and planned accordingly.
What’s that saying? If you want to make God laugh, just tell Him of your plans.
I ran a report last night to see how this year’s sales are compared to last year.
We’re up 21%.
Man. That is seriously awesome. I knew that we’ve been busier than we had expected, but didn’t expect 21%.
My friend Lisa F. (who is an entrepreneur and an utter genius in sales & marketing) demanded that I set a goal for this year’s sales. I threw out an absurd number and called it such. She then asked why it wouldn’t be attainable…
“Um. I don’t know,” was my response.
“Well then,” she said. “Do it.”
