Headline News on Yahoo and many newspapers this morning is from my neck of the woods:
Stealing cattle is a big deal. With cows selling for upwards of $1200, there’s some money to be made in this business. Back in the old days, if you were caught stealing cattle, you’d be hung on site.
In 2010, these bandits are just as outdoorsy, talented, and intelligent as the generations of cattle rustlers before them. Ranchers and the detectives who are investigating the loss of so much cattle have estimated their worth to be over $1-million dollars.
That’s quite a fetch for rustlers to keep doing their thing.
