Mardi Gras all over again

As some of you know, I lived in New Orleans at one time in my life.

A few years ago, I wrote a post about it, and just re-read it this morning. A wave of memories took over.

What a crazy time in my life.

You can read the post here.

So here we are again; Mardi Gras.

The live stream camera at Jackson Square is up and running already this morning, and it looks like a parTAY!

Bourbon Street looks crowded – right now the Religious Standoff is in full effect.

Those people who oppose the debauchery of the Mardi Gras celebration all congregate on the busiest corner of Bourbon Street, and promptly sit down. It’s hysterical to watch. Just stay home! I can’t imagine someone buzzed on hurricanes seeing a bunch of sober people sitting in the middle of the street and thinking “They are absolutely right! I need to join them!”.

Anywho. Hope you all enjoy your Fat Tuesday.

We’re serving alligator pizza for our Slice o’the Day. We’re calling it the “Gator Breath” and it has alligator, linguica, jalapenos, onions, roasted garlic & pepperjack cheese. Stinky deliciousness!

Loved your post about living in the French Quarter. We were there a year ago and it brought back some fun memories. One night on Bourbon Street was fun, two nights was too much.
