I shop locally as much as possible.
Not just because it’s good for our community, but also out of necessity. We’re a small town, and to shop at larger warehouse stores is at least an hour and a half drive.
Yesterday was one of those days.
Kris and I left first thing in the morning to Boise, and did a whirlwind trip to pick up as many items as we could for the restaurant.
First stop: The Boise Food Co-op. My favorite store of all time.
Seriously. Look at their olive selection!
We got a couple of tiny gelato cups to eat while shopping; pistachio, white chocolate, tiramisu and cheesecake flavors. The pistachio was my fave.
We bought our gluten-free ingredients (for our gluten-free crusts), then sped off to Standard Restaurant Supply, then Costco, then Cash n’ Carry (another restaurant supply store).
We called ahead to Ontario and picked up food to go, eating on the road back to Baker City.
Straight to work, Kris and I finished up the dinner rush then scrubbed down the kitchen. Home by 10:45 p.m., and I realized that we didn’t get to do any girl-time shopping at all.
I’m hoping we get back there in a few weeks for some downtime and real shopping.
