Whitey and I left work together to hit the grocery store and find some lunch recently. We rarely go out to eat because we work so much, and our schedules overlap.
After our shopping trip, we decided to try a place called Porchibees, right next to Taco Time on Campbell Street.
It was a good decision.
Whitey got a vegetarian rice bowl with fresh veggies and beans. I got the Thai rice bowl (shown above). Fresh broccoli, shredded cabbage, buttery avocado and a spicy coconut sauce. You get your choice of Pork Chicken or Beef (get it? PorChiBee?) on all of the bowls. We both got a full portion, and at 7.95 I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor.
We tried to make it there for takeout again the other day (wanting to try something else on the menu) but they close at 2 o’clock.
If you’re in Baker City passing through, by all means go to Paizano’s. 🙂 But if you’re a resident here, don’t overlook this little hole in the wall. It’s clean & cute on the inside, and the food was very good.
