Do spec ads.
Small business owners are too busy to create, or have great ideas and no one who shows up at the *perfect time* to pounce on the idea and market it for them. I am proud to say that I was Ad Exec of the Year for two newspapers, one in Bend and the other in Los Angeles, and this one thing helped me sell more than my co-workers. Spec ads showing creativity alongside a calendar with pricing and placement, irregardless of if the media is print, radio, television.

To get deep, I’ve been too busy finding myself amidst all of the chaos and confusion that my life has handed me lately. Too busy holding other peoples’ hands to watch out for my own path, but I think I’m making some great decisions lately. I’ve recently asked for advice (which was stupid of me to ask someone so biased), and listened to unsolicited advice (which I’ve since ignored), and now am just trusting myself. I’ve always been pretty smart.
